Hey guys! It's been a while since I did a 'serious' update.
I'm quite busy being an intern atm and all I really draw for myself are really... really... really lame doodles. But I've been drawing and you're only not being productive when you're not, right?
Alright, to the topic at hand. It's been almost
9 months since I uploaded the first part of my story "
Elayne & Mr. Grin". I know I said I'd continue the story and I'll try my best to do so! And I know there's quite a number of people who want more as well.
It's just that I'm unsure HOW I'm going to continue it.
I'm almost done with the writing, which I've been doing on and off as well. There are still some holes in the last few chapters. As of right now, it looks like it's going to be a just 4 chapters. I know, it's short. There are reasons though.
So the writing part isn't really the issue. It's the art.
The first part was an interactive flash comic with animated panels. It took a lot of energy to get all that work done in the 5 weeks I had. It was a lot of fun! But at that time I could work 24/7 on it during those 5 weeks. Now, I simply can not. I get behind my laptop at around 8:30PM each night and I've got other things to do as well (internship related things included).
As happy as I was I was able to finish the part animated and well by myself, I just... don't really like the animations. They are so emotionless. I guess it was the only way to finish it on time though, but it could've been so much more if I had more time and more experience with animation. And I personally don't like how the characters ended up looking in the Flash version. I like them so much more in sketch or painted form! They are much more lively in my opinion.
So the only way I can see myself ever finishing this story without too many words to read, is some drawing/painting sequence, combined in a Flash file so that I can keep some parts interactive.
I'm personally not much of a fan of too much read work, so I'll save that for you and hopefully give you pretty pictures.
TL;DR
So unless I don't get this magical amount of time out of nowhere, my plans are to continue EAMG with drawn/painted sequences instead of (crappy and) stiff animations.
